Common Questions

How do I level my print bed?

Most FlashForge printers feature auto-leveling. For manual leveling, use the included feeler gauge and follow the on-screen prompts. Adjust the four corner knobs until you feel slight resistance when sliding the gauge between the nozzle and bed. Detailed instructions are available in your printer's quick start guide.

What filament should I use for functional parts?

For functional parts requiring strength and durability, we recommend PETG or ABS. PETG offers excellent layer adhesion and chemical resistance, while ABS provides higher temperature resistance. For flexible parts, use TPU filament. All FlashForge printers are compatible with standard 1.75mm filament from any manufacturer.

How do I fix first layer adhesion issues?

First layer adhesion problems are usually caused by incorrect bed leveling or nozzle height. Ensure your bed is properly leveled and the nozzle is at the correct distance (you should feel slight friction when sliding a piece of paper between nozzle and bed). Also verify your bed temperature matches the recommended settings for your filament type.

How often should I maintain my printer?

We recommend basic maintenance every 500 printing hours: clean the print bed, check belt tension, lubricate linear rails, and inspect the nozzle for wear. Every 1000 hours, replace the PTFE tube and check the hotend thermistor. Detailed maintenance schedules are in your user manual.

Can I use third-party slicing software?

Yes! FlashForge printers are compatible with popular slicing software including Cura, PrusaSlicer, and Simplify3D. Download our optimized Cura profiles from the downloads section, or configure custom profiles using your printer's specifications from the manual.
